A lot of SaaS companies will tell you to upgrade on day one. We're not going to do that. The Free plan of Pounds is a complete loyalty program. You can run a shop on it for years. Pro adds a specific set of features aimed at a specific moment in a shop's life — and outside that moment, the upgrade doesn't pay for itself.
Here's how to tell.
What's in Pro (and what isn't)
Free gives you: branded customer app, unlimited customers, automatic points tracking, referral tracking, manual form builder, basic analytics.
Pro adds: 5× referral multiplier, 2× base points, exclusive tier badges, early access / surprise drops, priority push notifications, advanced analytics (cohorts, RFM, LTV by channel), full white-label branding, unlimited team seats, automated win-back campaigns, fraud protection, API access + webhooks, AI form builder (unlimited), priority support with 2-hour SLA.
Notice what Pro doesn't add: unlimited customers (Free has that), unlimited rewards (Free has that), unlimited bookings (Free has that). Pro is not a "more of what you have" plan. It's a different set of features aimed at growth, not basics.
When Pro pays for itself
Pro is £99.99/month. To pay for itself, you need one of:
1. You're ready to ship referrals hard
The 5× referral multiplier typically drives 2.5–3× more completed referrals than a flat program. If your current referral rate is 5% of customers refer 1 friend each, and you have 200 active customers spending £40/month each, that's 10 new customers × £40 = £400/month in referral-driven revenue. At 3× that's £1,200/month. Subtract the £99.99 Pro cost and you're net +£1,100/month. Upgrade.
2. You need the analytics to make a decision
Cohort retention, RFM segmentation, and LTV-by-channel are the three reports that actually change how you run a shop. If you're staring at your dashboard wondering which customers are actually worth retaining or which acquisition channel brings the best customers, Pro's analytics answer that in one click. The value is in the decisions you make with the data, not the charts themselves.
3. You want to white-label
If you're a multi-brand operator, a franchisor, or a shop whose brand is the product, full white-label (your logo, your colors, your splash screen, zero Pounds branding) is the only way. That's a Pro-only feature.
4. You're hiring staff
Unlimited team seats with role-based permissions matter the moment you have more than 2 people accessing the dashboard. On Free we cap it at 3.
5. You want AI form building
Free gives you 3 lifetime AI form generations. That's enough to try it. Pro makes it unlimited. If you're building 10+ custom intake forms, this alone is worth upgrading for.
When Pro does NOT pay for itself
Be honest about this:
- You're still under 100 active customers. You don't have enough referral volume for the multiplier to matter. Stay on Free. Come back when you hit 200.
- You're not running any intentional marketing. The analytics won't help you if you're not going to act on them.
- You have zero repeat customer baseline. Fix the product or the experience first. No loyalty tech saves a broken experience.
- You're testing whether loyalty "works" for your business. Run Free for 60 days first. If Free didn't move the needle, Pro probably won't either — not because Pro is weaker, but because you haven't figured out the mechanism yet.
The trial offer
We give every new tenant a 14-day Pro trial automatically. Use it to check the analytics tab, see if your referral rate moves, and test the AI form builder. If at the end of 14 days you haven't used any of those three things, stay on Free. We'd rather have you happy and paying nothing than upset and paying £100.
The honest metric
The single number to look at when deciding: your current referral-driven revenue per month. If it's more than £50, Pro will probably 2×+ it and pay for itself. If it's £0, Pro won't fix that — you need to fix the reason nobody is referring, first.
